HOW TO PREPARE A CARDBOARD BOX FOR TRANSPORT?

In the era of progressive development of online, retail and wholesale sales, almost every day we have to deal with sending products via courier companies. Unfortunately, it is often the case that customers receive damaged, crumpled parcels, which results in their dissatisfaction and, if the product is damaged in the process, in complaints. It is therefore very important that the cardboard box is properly prepared to set off. You will find our suggestions below.

FILLING THE CARDBOARD BOX

The filling of the cardboard box is extremely important for the transport of products packed in a cardboard box. Proper filling prevents the contents from being crushed and damaged. The cardboard box can be filled tightly in various ways:

  • bubble wrap,
  • cardboard inserts,
  • air cushions,
  • polystyrene foam.

Filling the empty spaces in the parcel prevents the items from moving. Apart from filling the box it is necessary to seal the cardboard for transport, e.g using a wide adhesive tape of the appropriate thickness.

SALES PACKAGES AND CARDBOARD BOXES

Packing goods in bulk and unit cardboards provides the greatest protection for the products during transport. Dividers and trusses, which are sized to fit the width and depth of the box, can be inserted into the master cardboard for transporting small items. This makes cardboard extra stiff and prevents the products from bumping against each other during transport. Another way of transporting safely is to pack the contents into smaller individual boxes, which are then placed in a master cardboard.

PALLETISED TRANSPORT

For larger volumes, palletised cardboard boxes, which are resistant to impacts and temperature changes, work best. The corners of the shipment are then secured with polystyrene or cardboard corners. Such a shipment should also be marked appropriately, e.g. with a warning sticker with the information for the courier that he should handle it with care. This is particularly useful when the parcel contains fragile items, such as glass.
